Valentina Ticino is an Italian architect, landscape designer, and founder of VT Lab, established in 2018 as a multidisciplinary laboratory for design and research. Her work spans architecture, landscape architecture, and masterplanning, with projects ranging from urban public spaces to large-scale international developments. Over the past decade, she has developed a strong focus on landscape design and interdisciplinary collaboration, leading complex projects across Europe and internationally. Her award-winning work includes Towards Paradise at the 2008 Venice Architecture Biennale while at Gustafson Porter, as well as the competition-winning Baoan Waterfront project in Shenzhen, developed with Antonio Inglese through Metrostudio UK LLP, which they co-founded in 2012. Born in Italy, Ticino studied architecture at Sapienza University of Rome and later completed a master’s degree in Management of Complex Processes at TU Hamburg in 2005, following studies at the École d’Architecture de Paris–La Villette. Since 2005, she has worked with leading international practices including Foster + Partners, AECOM, Martha Schwartz, and Kathryn Gustafson. She is a member of the Ordine degli Architetti, ARB, and RIBA, and was recognized with the New Italian Blood award in 2011 as one of Italy’s top emerging landscape architects under 36.
