Director of SDIC
Lorenc Çala is an engineer and geospatial specialist whose work focuses on GIS, mapping, and digital infrastructure. Formerly Director General of ASIG under the Prime Minister’s Office of Albania, he led the development of the country’s National Geoportal and the implementation of Albania’s new geodetic reference system. He also contributed to the preparation of national geospatial data standards aligned with the EU INSPIRE Directive and was part of the team negotiating the maritime border agreement between Albania and Greece in 2018. His background spans geodesy, land surveying, remote sensing, and digital cartography, with experience working across both public institutions and technical projects involving spatial data, mapping technologies, and geospatial platforms.
