Photographer, Publisher, and Explorer of Urban Narratives
Giovanna Silva is an Italian photographer and publisher whose work delves into the intersections of architecture, urban landscapes, and collective memory. Trained in architecture at Politecnico di Milano and holding a master’s degree in cultural anthropology from Ca Foscari University of Venice, Silva employs photography as a medium to document and interpret the evolving narratives of cities and their inhabitants. Her photographic books have been published by Mousse Publishing, Hatje Cantz, and Nero, among others. Notable works include Mr. Bawa I Presume, exploring the architecture of Sri Lankan modernist Geoffrey Bawa, and Days Without Number, a visual chronicle of New York City compiled over three years of extensive walking and observation.
