João Castro is a Portuguese innovation strategist, technologist, and academic leader specializing in digital transformation and product development. He serves as an Associate Professor at the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE), where he teaches courses in innovation management, product design, and technological strategy. Additionally, he heads the Centre for Digital Business and Innovation at Nova SBE, focusing on the intersection of technology and business. Castro’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Engineering Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University’s Center for Design Research. He also holds degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Porto and in Engineering Design from the Instituto Superior Técnico.
