Simon Boudvin
Artist and Architectural Explorer of Urban Landscapes
Simon Boudvin (b. 1979, Le Mans, France) is a French artist whose work navigates the intersections of architecture, landscape, and photography. Educated at the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris under Giuseppe Penone and at the École d’architecture de Paris-Malaquais, Boudvin has cultivated a practice that emphasizes fieldwork over studio creation. His projects often involve meticulous surveys, photographic documentation, and textual analyses of urban and peri-urban environments, focusing on the transformations and narratives embedded within these spaces. Since 2007, Boudvin has imparted his expertise in various institutions, including the École nationale supérieure de paysage in Versailles, where he teaches artistic practices and guides research initiatives. His commitment to education complements his artistic endeavors, fostering a dialogue between academic inquiry and creative expression.
