
Gabriele Croppi – Salt Guest
Professor of Cultural Heritage Photography and Master Photographer
Gabriele Croppi is an Italian photographer, educator, and Professor of Cultural Heritage Photography based in Milan. A graduate of the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia, his work explores the relationship between photography and other artistic disciplines, including painting, literature, cinema, and architecture. His research focuses particularly on the urban landscape, examining how architectural spaces, monuments, and cities can be transformed through light, shadow, atmosphere, and composition. His acclaimed project Metaphysics of Urban Landscape has received several international awards, including the International Photography Awards in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and the Golden Camera Awards in 2013.
Alongside his artistic practice, Croppi works in publishing and the photography collecting sector, while also teaching at the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia. Through his work, he continues to position photography as a bridge between cultural heritage, architecture, and visual imagination.
