Thomas Doxiadis – Salt Guest
Founder of Doxiadis+
Thomas is a Greek architect, landscape architect, and founder of doxiadis+. His work is characterized by respect, inquisitiveness, and creativity, with a strong focus on the interconnection between natural and manmade elements, living systems, and all scales of design. He believes design is the pursuit of balance and the creation of systems that allow all stakeholders to thrive and evolve.
Born in Athens, Thomas studied at Harvard University, where he received degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. His academic work explored historic landscapes and the relationship between spatial form and political function. After working in New York and contributing to the planning and landscape projects for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, he founded the practice that later became doxiadis+ in 1999.
Thomas has written and spoken extensively on ecology, landscape, and urbanism. He is one of the initiators of the LIFE-IP AdaptInGR program for climate change adaptation in Greece and has been actively involved in environmental protection, biodiversity, and the management of natural and historic landscapes through the Hellenic Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage.
