Managing partner of Beta Realities and Co-founder of BetaPort Systems / Urban Beta
Paul Clemens Bart is a German architect, entrepreneur and educator based in Brooklyn, NYC. He is managing partner of the spatial innovation studio Beta Realities and co-founder of the building technology company BetaPort Systems / Urban Beta. At his studio Paul works on participatory methods to create inclusive, unconventional, and transformative spaces through predictive planning. The studio’s aim is the greater democratization of technology for construction and architecture with a strong focus on positive social and ecological footprints. 2023 Urban Beta was named ‘Best New Practice of the Year’ by ArchDaily. Paul is actively engaged in the profession’s discourse, teaching at various universities, including the MIT SA+P, Pratt University, The Cooper Union, UCL The Bartlett and the Architectural Association London. Paul holds a MSc (Dipl. Ing. Univ. eqv.) in Architecture from Technical University of Munich and a MArch from the Architectural Association’s Design Research Lab in London. He has over 10 years of industry experience in leading positions at renowned architectural offices such as Zaha Hadid Architects London and Bjarke Ingels Group NYC. His award-winning work has been patented and widely published in the trade press and media, such as WIRED Magazine, CNN Style, Bloomberg Business Week, the Financial Times and DETAIL Magazine.
