
Amanda Levete
Founder of AL_A
Amanda Levete CBE is a renowned British architect and the founder of AL_A, an award-winning architecture and design studio established in 2009. A graduate of the Architectural Association in London, Levete began her career working with Richard Rogers before becoming a partner at Future Systems in 1989, where she co-designed iconic projects such as the Selfridges Building in Birmingham and the Stirling Prize-winning Lord’s Media Centre at Lord’s Cricket Ground. At AL_A, she has led transformative projects including the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Exhibition Road Quarter in London, the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) in Lisbon, and the Central Embassy in Bangkok. Levete is celebrated for her innovative use of materials and her commitment to creating architecture that is both technologically advanced and sensitive to its context. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the 2018 Jane Drew Prize for her efforts in promoting the role of women in architecture.
