Antón García-Abril
Architect, Composer, and Co-founder of Ensamble Studio
Antón García-Abril is a Spanish architect and educator, known for his experimental and structural approach to architecture. He co-founded Ensamble Studio with Débora Mesa in 2000, producing innovative works that blur the lines between architecture, engineering, and sculpture. Notable projects include the Hemeroscopium House, the Truffle in Costa da Morte, and the Cyclopean House in Massachusetts. García-Abril is also a professor at MIT, where he explores large-scale prefabrication and radical construction methods. His work challenges conventional norms and seeks a raw, elemental connection with nature and materials.
