Djamel Klouche
Founder of l'AUC
Djamel Klouche co-founded l’AUC, a leading French architecture and urban planning practice known for its bold, counter-current approach to contemporary urbanism. Since its founding in 1996, l’AUC has championed complexity and hybridity, embracing contrasts of scale, context, and program to rethink the relationship between nature, people, public space, and the city. Recognized with the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme (2021) and the UIA Patrick Abercrombie Prize (2023), l’AUC has contributed to key international urban initiatives, including Le Grand Paris (2008), Brussels 2040, Greater Moscow, and Annecy 2050. Their built work includes major regeneration projects such as the Fives Cail Babcock industrial site in Lille, the transformation of Lyon’s Part-Dieu business district, the Brussels-Midi station area, and the redevelopment of Air Base 217 in Brétigny-sur-Orge.
