Francesca Gagliardi
Architect & Co-Founder at FONDAMENTA
Francesca Gagliardi is an Italian architect and co-founder of FONDAMENTA, a contemporary architecture studio based in Milan, established in 2016 together with Federico Rossi. She earned her architecture degree from the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio in Switzerland in 2012. Throughout her formative years and early career, she worked with some of the most respected architecture practices in Europe, including Aires Mateus in Lisbon, Ensamble Studio (led by Antón García-Abril) in Madrid, and Christian Kerez in Zurich—whose influence continues to shape her academic and professional trajectory. Her work is characterized by a conceptual and contextual approach to architecture, where structure, material, and economy are treated not as constraints, but as opportunities for creative expression.
