Studio lead and Managing partner Plant en Houtgoed studio
At Plant en Houtgoed, we believe that traditional spatial design too often treats nature as a mere urban amenity or a static green backdrop. As Studio Lead and Managing Partner of our design studio, the focus is on actively redefining territorial planning through the lens of deep ecology and systemic regeneration. We do not just design landscapes; we scale up the principles of agro-ecology, closed-loop land management, and wild biodiversity into resilient, living territories. Directing our design operations, the mission is to architect self-sustaining ecosystems where native re-wilding, community-driven space, and productive agriculture thrive in unison. From complex masterplans to our zero-emission landscape execution, our projects demonstrate that the landscapes of tomorrow must function as active, breathing organisms rather than passive green infrastructures.
We approach territorial design with a practical hands-on yet philosophical methodology. Through our work and presentations, we aim to challenge the current understanding of landscape architecture, shifting the global conversation from smart cities to truly living landscapes.
