
Leopold Banchini
Architect and Founder of Leopold Banchini Architects
Leopold Banchini is a Swiss architect and educator, celebrated for his interdisciplinary approach that blends vernacular traditions, contemporary culture, and sustainable practices. Born in Geneva in 1981, he studied architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). Before founding his own studio in 2016, Banchini collaborated with Daniel Zamarbide under the name Bureau A. His practice is characterized by a commitment to social action, environmental responsibility, and the exploration of alternative building methods. Notable projects include the House of Architectural Heritage in Bahrain, Casa CCFF in Geneva, and Marramarra Shack in Australia. Banchini’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale, where he contributed to the award-winning Bahrain Pavilion in 2010.
