Mario Cucinella is an Italian architect known for his commitment to sustainable design and environmental innovation. He founded Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) in 1992, a firm recognized for integrating energy efficiency and ecological sensitivity into architecture. His notable projects include the One Airport Square in Ghana, the ARPA Headquarters in Ferrara, and the green redesign of Bologna’s municipal library. In 2015, he also established the School of Sustainability (SOS) to train new generations of architects in sustainable practice. Cucinella is widely respected for promoting architecture that is socially responsive and climate-conscious.
