Mikayel Ohanjanyan
Sculptor and Contemporary Installation Artist
Mikayel Ohanjanyan is an Armenian-Italian sculptor and contemporary installation artist whose work investigates the intersection of space, material, and spiritual symbolism. Best known for his monumental stone and steel structures, Ohanjanyan uses tension, geometry, and void to explore themes of resilience, memory, and transcendence. His artistic language draws on both Armenian cultural heritage and minimalist abstraction, creating forms that feel both timeless and architectonic. A recipient of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale (Armenian Pavilion, 2015), his installations have been exhibited internationally in public spaces and museums alike. Ohanjanyan’s work invites contemplation, offering a meditative dialogue between the viewer, the material, and the metaphysical.
