
Neil Porter – Salt Guest
Co-Founder and Founding Partner of Gustafson Porter + Bowman
Neil Porter is a founding partner of Gustafson Porter + Bowman, which he co-founded in 1997. He has led major landscape architecture projects worldwide, focusing on understanding the historical, cultural, geographical, and social context of each site.
His notable projects include the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain in London, Oxford North Landscape Masterplan, Garden of Forgiveness in Beirut, Bay East in Singapore, Mezyad Desert Park in Abu Dhabi, and the UK Holocaust Memorial & Learning Centre in London. Many of his designs have received prestigious international awards.
Neil studied architecture at Newcastle University and the Architectural Association in London, graduating with honours in 1983. He later worked with several leading architects and designers, including Bernard Tschumi, whom he collaborated with on Parc de la Villette in Paris, where he met Kathryn Gustafson.
He is currently leading projects such as the 25-year masterplan for Highgate Cemetery in London, the Renazca mixed-use development in Madrid, and ConfEx Park in Thessaloniki.
