Patrik Schumacher
Principal of Zaha Hadid Architects and Theorist of Parametricism
Patrik Schumacher is a German architect and architectural theorist, best known as the principal of Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), where he has worked since 1988. Following Zaha Hadid’s passing in 2016, he assumed leadership of the firm, guiding its evolution while continuing its signature parametric design approach. He is the author of numerous writings on architecture, including The Autopoiesis of Architecture, and is considered the leading advocate for “parametricism,” a style he defines as the new global avant-garde. Schumacher has taught at institutions such as the Architectural Association in London and Harvard GSD, influencing contemporary architectural discourse worldwide.
