Ramón Vilalta Pujol (b. 1960, Vic, Spain) is a Spanish architect and co-founder of RCR Arquitectes, an award-winning architectural practice based in Olot, Catalonia. Established in 1988 with Rafael Aranda and Carme Pigem, RCR Arquitectes is renowned for its poetic and contextually sensitive approach to architecture, seamlessly integrating buildings with their natural surroundings. Vilalta graduated in Architecture from the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura del Vallès (ETSAV) in 1987. He furthered his studies with a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) between 1987 and 1989. From 1989 to 2001, he served as a professor of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture at ETSAV.
Under Vilalta’s leadership, RCR Arquitectes has completed notable projects such as the Tossols-Basil Athletics Track in Olot, the Sant Antoni–Joan Oliver Library in Barcelona, and the Soulages Museum in Rodez, France. In 2017, the trio received the Pritzker Architecture Prize, marking the first time the honor was bestowed upon three individuals simultaneously.
