Rodrigo Vilas-Boas is a Portuguese architect and co-founder of OODA (Oporto Office for Design and Architecture), established in 2010 in Porto. OODA is a dynamic architecture and urban design studio known for its innovative, contextually-driven designs across diverse project types, including residential, hospitality, institutional, and masterplanning. The studio emphasizes collaboration and cutting-edge technology, blending hand-drawn sketches with advanced digital tools. Before founding OODA, Vilas-Boas gained international experience working at renowned firms such as OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) in Rotterdam and MVentura & Associados Arquitectos in Porto. His professional journey reflects a commitment to integrating global perspectives with local contexts. Under his leadership, OODA has undertaken significant projects, including the Ndarja building in Tirana, Albania, a mixed-use development that integrates residential, hospitality, office, and commercial spaces, contributing to the city’s urban transformation. The studio’s work is characterized by a strong team-oriented approach, with over 50 collaborators from various nationalities working on a wide range of projects.
