Architect, Educator, and Co-Founder of Barclay & Crousse Architecture
Sandra Barclay (b. 1967, Lima, Peru) is a distinguished Peruvian architect and educator, recognized for her profound contributions to architecture that harmoniously integrate landscape, climate, and cultural context. She co-founded Barclay & Crousse Architecture in Paris in 1994 alongside Jean Pierre Crousse; the firm relocated to Lima in 2006, maintaining its international presence. Their practice explores the relationship between architecture and landscape, focusing on how design can respond to both environmental conditions and human well-being. Barclay’s academic background includes architectural studies in Lima and Paris, culminating in a Master’s degree in Landscape and Territory from Universidad Diego Portales in Chile. She has been an Associate Professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) since 2006 and has held visiting professorships at esteemed institutions such as Yale School of Architecture, Harvard Graduate School of Design, and the University of Virginia.
