Architect and Founder of Sofia Albrigo Office
Sofia Albrigo is an Italian architect and lecturer.
She is the founder of the eponymous architecture practice, established in 2022 and operating between Italy and Switzerland. The office works across architecture, installations, and critical research,with a particular focus on spatial dynamics explored through a minimal-agency approach.
Her work approaches architecture as a rigorous cultural act, one that questions conventions andseeks to challenge established ways of inhabiting space. Through a careful exploration of spatialdynamics, the office explores the potential of architecture to generate new forms of experiencethat transcend time and invite alternative ways of relating to space.
Sofia is currently a Lecturer in the first-year Bachelor Design Studio at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio.
She graduated from the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and worked until 2021 at the office of Valerio Olgiati in Flims, Switzerland. As a project manager, she oversaw the completion of two major projects, including the Pearling Path Visitor and Experience Centre in Bahrain, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this role, she also supervised the construction process on site.
