Founder of Stefano Boeri Architetti
Stefano Boeri is an Italian architect and urban planner, born in 1956 in Milan. He graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1980 and obtained his PhD in Urban Planning from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia (IUAV) in 1989. In 1993, he founded Stefano Boeri Architetti, a firm dedicated to research and practice in architecture and urban planning. The studio is known for its innovative projects that integrate nature into urban environments, such as the Vertical Forest (Bosco Verticale) in Milan, which features residential towers adorned with over 9,000 trees. Boeri’s work emphasizes sustainability and the creation of green urban spaces. He is also a full professor of Urban Planning at the Polytechnic University of Milan and has been a guest professor at various international institutions, including Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
