Vittorio Frontini is an Italian architect and co-founder of Frontini Terrana Architects (FTA), an acclaimed architectural practice based in Florence, Italy, known for its focus on sustainable design, public spaces, and the sensitive transformation of historical and military landscapes. He graduated from the University of Florence in 2002, where he later collaborated in teaching architectural design, and established FTA in 2007 alongside partner Antonino Terrana. Frontini’s work is characterized by a deep integration of architecture with the surrounding landscape, earning the firm numerous honors in international design competitions, including the prestigious Inarch/Ance award. A significant milestone in his career includes his prominent role in the large-scale urban regeneration project for the former NATO military base Camp Darby near Pisa, where his vision combined the preservation of historical memory with innovative, ecological master planning. Beyond his active practice, Frontini contributes to the architectural discourse through international lectures and publications, advocating for design models that balance modern spatial needs with deep contextual and environmental respect.
