Glenn Howells is a prominent British architect and urban designer who has significantly shaped the architectural landscape of regional cities, most notably Birmingham and London. In 1990, he established Howells (formerly Glenn Howells Architects), a practice that has grown into one of the UK’s most respected firms, known for its strategic approach to complex urban regeneration and its focus on sustainable, high-quality design. His portfolio spans diverse sectors, including major cultural works like the Savill Building in Windsor Great Park and the English National Ballet HQ, as well as large-scale masterplans for London City Island and Paradise Birmingham. Beyond his practice, Howells is a committed educator and civic leader, serving as a Visiting Professor at Birmingham City University and advising government bodies and cultural institutions on the power of architecture to enrich communities.
