Dr. Markus Jatsch has been a Partner at Martha Schwartz Partners (MSP) since 2010 and serves as MSP’s Principal and Creative Director. Over 30 years, he has created award-winning projects that operate at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and public art. His experience combines fine arts and philosophy with technical expertise in architecture and landscape architecture, enabling MSP to tackle the most ambitious and conceptually complex projects. Markus has been responsible for some of the firm’s most well-known and internationally recognized climate solutions and urban interventions. Jeju Dream Tower, Shunde Joy Marina, and Zigong Waterfront Park reflect his ability to advance cultural, natural and environmental objectives simultaneously. In addition to his work at MSP, Markus has won international awards and held teaching appointments at Harvard University, the Polytechnic University of Milan, and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. His monographs, exhibitions, juries, and frequent lectures have established Markus as a leading voice in the industry whose ideas inform practice globally. He has a Doctor of Engineering degree in architecture and philosophy from the Technical University of Munich and architecture and engineering degrees from Columbia University and the University of Stuttgart.
