Santiago Cirugeda – Salt Guest
Founder of Recetas Urbanas
Santiago Cirugeda is an architect and urban activist known for subversive urban projects that challenge conventional uses of public space. His work explores temporary architecture, reuse of materials, citizen participation, and interventions in façades, rooftops, and abandoned sites, often navigating the boundary between legal and illegal urban practices.
In 2003, he founded Recetas Urbanas, a collective focused on socially driven architecture and new housing models for disadvantaged communities. His projects, publications, and documentaries examine issues such as urban control, self-construction, and the housing crisis in Spain. Cirugeda has also participated in exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and conferences internationally.
