
Winka Dubbeldam – Panelist
Architect and Academic, Founder of Architectonics
Winka Dubbeldam is a Dutch architectural designer, educator, and founder of Archi-Tectonics, the New York–based firm she established in 1994 after completing her architectural studies at Columbia University. Her work is recognized for combining sustainable materials, advanced construction methods, and digital design techniques to create innovative architectural forms.
Dubbeldam’s practice spans residential, cultural, commercial, and urban projects, with work exhibited internationally at institutions including MoMA, the Venice Biennale, Storefront for Art and Architecture, and Aedes Berlin. Her early built work gained attention through a residential project exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, while her broader contribution to design has been acknowledged by major publications and institutions, including Esquire, which named her among its “Best and Brightest” in 2004.
Alongside her practice, Dubbeldam is deeply engaged in architectural education and public discourse. Since September 2025, Dubbeldam has served as Director and CEO of SCI-Arc. She is Professor Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania, where she chaired the Department of Architecture [2013-23], has served as RIBA External Examiner for The Bartlett, UCL, and was Creative Director of the Venice Biennale Virtual Italian Pavilion in 2021. Her work continues to explore the intersection of technology, material innovation, and urban life.
