
Francis Kéré – Keynote
Founder of Kéré Foundation
Francis Kéré is an internationally renowned Burkinabè architect and recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Known for his innovative and sustainable approach to design, his work is rooted in community engagement, local materials, and social impact. While still a student at the Technical University of Berlin, Kéré designed and built the Gando Primary School, which received the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2004. He founded Kéré Architecture in 2005, alongside the Kéré Foundation supporting projects in his hometown of Gando. His internationally acclaimed projects include the Burkina Faso National Assembly, Lycée Schorge Secondary School, and the Serpentine Pavilion 2017. Alongside his practice, Kéré has taught at institutions including Harvard Graduate School of Design and Yale University, and has exhibited work internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
